Astelia banksii

Shore Astelia: Evergreen clumping grass-like plant with metallic silvery-green recurved leaves. 3-4' tall and wide. As with other Astelia, this species is dioecious with male and female flowers are on separate plants but neither are showy and are usually down in the foliage. Full sun to part shade. Medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, and drought once established, but prefers occasional water. Deer and gopher resistant.
