Artichoke 'Imperial Star'

Imperial Star Artichoke: Evergreen perennial vegetable with grey-green foliage that grows 4' tall and wide. High yields of sweet, mild tasting artichoke flower buds that are 4 1/2" in diameter are very slow to open when mature. Pretty purple flowers will appear if buds are not harvested. Can produce the first year.  Attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Good for containers. Full sun, medium water. Seacoast, heat, clay, sand, and drought tolerant once established. Deer and rabbit resistant.
