Artichoke 'Imperial Star'

Attractive plants with grey-green foliage that grow 4' tall and wide. High yields of sweet, mild tasting artichoke flower buds that are 4 1/2" in diameter are very slow to open when mature. Pretty purple flowers will appear if buds are not harvested. Can produce the first year. Drought tolerant once established.
