Mugwort: Fast growing CA native perennial shrub with aromatic silvery gray foliage. 4' tall x 5' wide. Spreads by underground rhizomes, especially in moist areas. Small, inconspicuous creamy white colored flowers. Full sun to part shade. Low to high water. Cut back in winter. Used in herbal medicine. Attracts birds, butterflies and pollinators. Seacoast, wind, clay, sand, bog, heat and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher, and fire resistant.
