Aquilegia formosa

Western Columbine: Deciduous perennial CA native 1' tall and wide with with nodding, lantern-like red and yellow flowers in spring to early summer on stalks that are 2-3' tall. Attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and pollinators. Excellent for woodland gardens, borders, and naturalized settings. Good for cut flowers and containers. Full sun to part shade. Medium to high water. Clay, sand, bog and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
