Agave stricta

Hedgehog Agave: Slow-growing rare polycarpic succulent 20" tall and wide with a spherical growth shape and foliage that resembles a hedgehog's needles. Dramatic, unbranched, dark red, maroon or purple colored flower spikes 4-8' tall in summer. Great in containers. Full sun, low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and fire resistant.
