Aeonium 'Firecracker'

Aeonium 'Firecracker' (Aeonium simsii x A. arboreum 'Zwartkop'): Evergreen succulent with 3-4" wide dark reddish black rosettes with bright green centers that form a low mound 6-12" tall. Yellow star-shaped flowers sometimes form as conical clusters from the center of the rosettes in spring, but the main appeal of this plant is the foliage. Great in containers. Attracts hummingbirds, bees and pollinators. Full sun to part shade. Medium water. Seacoast, wind, sand and drought tolerant once established, but prefers occasional water. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
