False Tillandsia: Epiphytic or sometimes terrestrial bromeliad 12-15" tall and wide with stiff compact rosettes and yellow-green spine-toothed leaves. Centers turn red when the plant is in flower. Showy bright orange-red bracts and pink to violet flowers. Full sun to part shade. Best color in bright light. Low to medium water. Good for cut flowers. Grow indoors or outside. Attracts butterflies and bees.. Tropical effects. Seacoast, wind, clay, heat and drought tolerant once established. Deer resistant.
