Acorus gramineus 'Licorice'

Japanese Sweet Flag, Calamus: Evergreen grass-like perennial to 12" tall and wide. Foliage is deep green with a strong licorice scent. Inconspicuous, yellow-green flowers bloom from spring to early summer. Good for containers. Spreads slowly. Easy to grow. Part sun to part shade. Medium to high water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and bog tolerant. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
