Acmispon heermannii

Woolly Lotus, Heermann’s Bird’s-foot Trefoil: CA native mat-forming, vine like perennial legume 1-2' tall x 5' wide. Has small, soft and fuzzy leaflets. Flower bloom from spring-summer with yellow petals that often have dark pink, orange, or reddish lobes. Goes dormant in late summer-fall. Attracts birds, hummingbirds and pollinators.  Full sun to part sun. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, and drought tolerant once established.
