Abutilon palmeri

Indian Mallow:  A tough and fast growing CA Native semi-evergreen shrub 4-5' tall and wide with silvery, soft and velvety heart-shaped leaves. 1" wide cup shaped gold to apricot colored flowers nearly year round with peak bloom in spring- summer. After flowers drop the fuzzy sepals remain with the developing fruit, good for dry flower arrangements. Prune back after flowering to help keep it from becoming rangy. Full sun to part sun. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, clay and drought tolerant once established, but prefers occasional water. Deer and fire resistant.
