Seaside Buckwheat: Evergreen CA native compact mounding sub-shrub 1' tall x 2' wide with softly felted blue-grey leaves and 1” clusters of pinkish-white flowers that age to a showy rusty hue as they dry, persisting till fall. Attracts butterflies, bees and other pollinators. A larval food plant for the Acmon Blue and Hairstreak butterflies. Good for erosion control and containers. Edible and medicinal uses. Full sun. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, clay, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, gopher, and fire resistant.
