Chionanthus retusus

Chinese Fringe Tree: A small deciduous tree to 30' tall and wide with fragrant, fringe-like white flowers. Leaves turn yellow in the fall. Bark is golden to gray-brown. Produces small, blackish blue fruits. Attracts birds, butterflies, and bees. Full sun, medium water. Heat, wind, clay, sand and drought tolerant once established but appreciates occasional water. Deer and fire resistant.
